The heat in the kitchen…

In Uncategorized on November 28, 2013 at 11:14 am

It’s been a busy week working on the kitchen book. Monday and Tuesday were spent in the Martin Moore & Company showrooms in Esher with photographer Darren Chung.

On Monday we were worked with the lovely June Summerill of Summerill & Bishop and on Tuesday Frieda Gormley of House of Hackney and in the afternoon the fabulous Mark and Keith from Mini Moderns. The temperatures rose, not because of steaming pots and roasting dishes, but because we actually had some sun shining through the showroom windows and we were all rushing around like mad things trying to get the sets dressed and shot before the sun disappeared at 3.30pm.

Last week I popped in to the Habitat Spring Summer 2014 show at their gallery space in the Kings Road, some really nice bright patterns and colourways and at very good price points.

and walking back down the King’s Road I passed the windows of Peter Jones, all dressed for Christmas, and well worth a look. Some clever window dressing team have fashioned all sorts of animals out of household goods, such as reindeer from Dyson cyclone cleaners and my favourite, squirrels from cups and plastic forks.

A Woman Possessed

I have been hard at work on my next book for Jacqui Small publishing, writing thousands of words, fixing up shoots and actually getting down and dirty on one at a wonderful shop in Islington called Possessed . The vintage shop, at 96 Chapel Street Market, London N1 9EY, is the passion of Tania Rowlings and also where a pop up restaurant with Moro will be on the 4th and 5th December, if that tickles your fancy book soon because places are limited and being snapped up. To make an appointment please call or email: tania@possessedn1.com

I rounded off the week with a trip to Jamaica Road for a catch up with Michael Donovan of Profile PR . We had a long chat about changes in the print industry and his busy portfolio of clients. I also took a stroll to the end of the road past his office and had a great view of the new buildings cramming the city skyline
