I visited the home of  Baukjen de Swaan Arons the entrepreneurial business woman behind the fashion labels Baukjen and Isabella Oliver even on a hot, hot day their home is cool because the whole of the back wall is made of folding glass panels

On Wednesday, after a walk through St James’s Park trying to find some shade beneath the trees, I arrived at the ICA for a demonstration of Panasonic’s new kitchen range, and interesting side step for a company known primarily for televisions and sound equipment but now they are taking their electronic know-how in to the kitchen. To show off the cool to touch ovens and intuitive hobs we were treated to lunch cooked by Masaki Sugisaki of  Dinings. The  Panasonic Kitchen Kyoto range is being  released in to UK outlets from now through the autumn.

To round off the week I visited the award winning William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow, a small but interesting gallery with plenty to please those interested in Morris. It is in Water House, Morris’s childhood home and to the rear there is a large garden with a moat, just the place to cool down.
