Bank Holiday Monday was spent on board a Virgin Airways flight to the Big Apple, with 9.30pm arrival at the Smyth Hotel by Chambers and West Broadway, its a Thompson hotel in a great downtown location. Monday met up with photographer Jonny Valiant and his assistant Zach Callahan at an amazing apartment between Prince and Spring Street

The apartment was designed by UK based architect Nico Rensch of Architeam and will feature in The Times soon. After the shoot it was uptown to meet Stephen Brandman whose home we shot later in the week and the team from Elie Tahari a ready to wear designer who has a business worth in excess of $500 million although relatively unknown in the UK, although that is about to change.

Wednesday through the rain to the home of YabuPushelberg at the end of Perry Street looking out over the Hudson, a world ranked pair of designers who deal mainly with hotels and commercial spaces, but are so charming looked after so well that we didn’t want the shoot to stop. That evening I went to the launch of a UK pop-up shop at the New York Design Centre where Lulu Lytle of Soane, London was taking the city’s design scene by storm
